Driving Change: Conister Bank Donates Minibus to The Children’s Centre

Conister Bank has strengthened its long-standing partnership with The Children’s Centre by donating a brand-new 9-seater Renault Traffic minibus - the largest corporate contribution the charity has received.

Conister Bank Celebrates 90 Years of Trust and Innovation

Celebrating 90 Years of Conister Bank Today, Conister Bank proudly celebrates 90 years since its incorporation in 1935 a - milestone that reflects nearly a century of resilience, progress, and unwavering commitment to the Isle of Man community.

Founded during an era of optimism and growth, Conister began life as the island’s first hire purchase company, enabling families to own cars and household goods at a time when such aspirations were out of reach for many. Inspired by the steadfastness of Conister Rock and its Tower of Refuge, our founders built a business on principles of trust and reliability, values that remain at the heart of everything we do.

Over the decades, Conister has weathered global conflicts, economic upheavals, and technological revolutions. From handwritten ledgers to cutting-edge digital platforms, we’ve embraced change while staying true to our mission: to support individuals, businesses, and communities with financial solutions that make a difference.

Our journey has been marked by milestones, the move to Finch Road in the 1960s, the introduction of deposit accounts that kept money circulating locally, and the expansion into UK lending. In 2008, we became part of Manx Financial Group PLC, a diversified financial services group that shares our vision for growth and innovation. This partnership has strengthened our ability to serve customers both on the Isle of Man and beyond.
