Celebrating 10 Years With Briony Vernon

This month, we’re celebrating a special milestone as Briony Vernon marks 10 years with Conister Bank.
Over the years, Briony has taken on more responsibility across the team, from reporting to training others. Along the way, she has continued to learn, develop and make the role her own.
It’s a journey that reflects something we’re particularly proud of at Conister: giving people the opportunity to develop, take on new challenges and build lasting careers with us.
Growing With the Role
While the fundamentals of Briony’s role have remained centred around supporting customers with their repayments, her responsibilities have grown considerably.
One achievement she is particularly proud of is completing her ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management – while seven months pregnant! For Briony, embracing opportunities as they come has been an important part of her career.
“Take any opportunities that arise and don’t be afraid to ask questions or make suggestions if you think things can be done better.”
Supporting Customers When It Matters
For Briony, one of the most rewarding parts of working in Collections is being able to find an appropriate way forward for customers when circumstances change.
She says:
“It’s rewarding when customers are truly appreciative of the help we can give them.”
It’s an important part of Collections that can sometimes go unseen: listening, understanding someone’s circumstances and finding the right support where possible.
The People Behind the Decade
Ask Briony what has kept her at Conister for ten years and her answer is simple: the people.
“The people. Everyone has bad days, and when you do, the people at Conister rally round and lift you back up.”
Briony also credits our Chief Operating Officer, Haseeb Qureshi, and Corporate Development and Integration Manager, Dave Radcliffe, with having the confidence in her to take on more responsibility and ultimately shape her role into what it is today.
Ten years with one organisation is something worth celebrating. It not only represents the contribution someone makes over many years, but also the relationships, opportunities and experiences built along the way.
